I believe in making friends with my students. Making the learning a good experience to be comfortable with me and my process. I believe in practice more and more. I inspire them to believe that they can do this, and anything they want.
Teaching comes with a set of skills. Giving information is only one part of it. I understand the mind of my students and devise a method that is meaningful for them. So my strategy is different in different case. . I bring current events into discussion as well as the culture and the areas of interest of my students.
I make them work in class and explain the issues they are facing right away. I focus on weak ares and bring them back again to practice it.
I set benchmarks for them to achieve. This keeps them motivated and growing. I am flexible to change my style if my student wants to focus on any particular aspect of learning. This is the best way to memorize the stuff when it's coming according to their minds pace.
Last but not least, I keep an eye on my own progress with them.
