I like to use the latest news and topics during my sessions. The key is to introduce new vocabulary and encourage independent use of the target vocabulary. I will never interrupt during a client's talk time and I will keep note of any mistakes to give the client the opportunity to correct their own errors first.

The general idea is to have an engaging session and ensure there is a relaxed environment.
There are various methods to employ depending on the needs of the client and I am open to guide a client for specific needs if need be.

An hours session could be structured as follows;
Free talk 5-10 mins
Target vocabulary will be introduced relating to a video/audio/text. Definitions and example sentences will be provided if necessary. The material will usually be around 1minute long.
Aim is to describe the material using target vocabulary. During this exercise there will be zero interruptions.
Mistakes are given at the end of the description and corrections are completed. Then, there will be a new opportunity to give another description taking care to avoid making mistakes.

The above process is repeated with a different topic and another set of target vocabulary.
This way within one session we can explore two different topics and gain new vocabulary.

The last 5 to 10 minutes is usually a focus on grammar; If there is a clear pattern of weakness with the past tense, then I will introduce interactive exercises to avoid future mistakes.

The topic based exercises tend to take 15-20 minutes each.
