Education and Experience:
I have completed bachelors in Agriculture Sciences with major Plant Breeding and Genetics from University of Agriculture, Pakistan. Now I am doing my Masters in Plant Breeding and Genetics from Akdeniz University in Antalya, Turkiye. I completed my Intermediate education in Biological sciences from Pakistan.
Method for teaching:
The method which I will use for teaching includes a simple story telling method or concept building method. It may include assignments.
Contents of Course include:
• History and importance of agriculture
• Plant Genetics (Replication, transcription and translation)
• Introduction to different crops, their importance, traits and cultural practices (Seed rate, no of
irrigation and soil preparation etc.)
• Irrigation methods (Flood irrigation, drip irrigation etc.)
• Abiotic stresses (high temperature, salinity, humidity, and drought etc.)
• Biotic stresses (different Disease and Insects)
• Breeding methods of self-pollinated crops (Mass selection, single seed descent method,
pedigree selection and Backcross Breeding) and cross-pollinated crops (Recurrent selection).
• General Biometrical designs (CRD, RCBD, and LSD).
• Role of markers (RFLP, RAPD, SSR, and SNP) in Agriculture.
• Some modern techniques like Transcriptome analysis, Crispr CAS basic discussion will be
included (if needed).
• Certain important Biotechnology related techniques (Polymerase chain reaction. Gel
Electrophoresis, DNA extraction method, and Tissue culture method) will be included.
This content is flexible and can be changed according to the level of student and need of student.
Language of Teaching:
Language of teaching will be English. It will also help students to learn English and be fluent in it.
