I personally believe in accommodating to exactly what my student needs, whether thats more past papers to revise, in-depth explanations of complicated topics or small quizzes. I usually first want to understand the students strengths and weaknesses pertaining to both them as a student and the topic. I tend to use google meets or zoom where I display my screen so that the student can follow along to what I'm teaching with the diagrams and the notes I provide them and include small quizzes where they repeat the information they've taught back to me and teach them also about overall studying methods that provide the results you're looking for! I would assign homework according to your workload and based on how much I believe the class requires prioritisation and consistent practice. This homework would include either completing worksheets, creating notes, watching videos or doing practice exams. I also provide students with topic specific notes that either IB teachers have created or I have myself personally and past papers. My lessons would be around 1 hour to an hour 30 minutes and in that time span, I always want to outline firstly a manageable goal that we hope to achieve by the end of the lesson. The next lesson I also revisit a lot of the content that we have looked over if it requires any more review. I also want to connect with the students I teach and be flexible for their needs and desires.
